Our Story

King In The North is the result of a dream cross by his owner/rider Leilani Nichols. His dam was known locally for being a dependable go to mount that succeeded in whatever task was put in front of her. During college Leilani sadly sold his dam to help pay for school, and later bought her back to breed and produce King In The North.

Leilani is a successful barrel horse trainer with many 1D accomplishments and a long resume of both starting horses and fixing problem horses. Specializing in the first 90 days on horses, a trainable mind paired with athletic ability was the dream of her future program. King In The North's dam was the perfect example of a user friendly horse with size and athleticism. King In The North's sire (Streakin Lil Wayne) incorporated many bloodlines that had come through Leilani's training program and held special meaning to her.

Learning from both successes and mistakes in the early years of her breeding program, she decided to focus on what was important to her rather than trying to produce a horse for some imagined future buyer. This was the turning point in her program that is now unfolding beautifully as King In The North continues to impress with every ride.

What King In The North's Photographer Has to Say About Him

We've had the opportunity to photograph this stallion a few times now, and every time we have had a blast!
Aegon is such a kind and respectful horse and a VERY easy going one at that! Photoshoots are A LOT of work, especially for a young guy like him. He handled his photo sessions with ease!
I'm very excited to see this horse grow.
Thank you Leilani Nichols for trusting our work. You've been a wonderful client.
